Dollhouse
Thank you to the adults and youth who have donated time, money, and supplies towards improving our newly donated dollhouse! We have begun painting it and sprucing it up. Join us this Friday and next month for the final "Design a Dollhouse" programs where you can help Jenna decorate, paint, and wallpaper our dollhouse. Check out what we have done so far!
Homeschool Club is Back!
Today was our first Homeschool Club gathering of 2013. Please visit our website for future meetings so you and your family can join in the fun as well! www.fallcreekpubliclibrary.org
Today we explored how animals survive the winter, especially in the Poles. We watched a few video clips and talked about how they keep warm. First we watched a short clip about penguins. We also watched Bill Nye the Science Guy's song about blubber and another about hibernation.
Then we put our experiment caps on and dressed one finger up and kept the other one naked to see the difference between just skin and some protection from the cold.

Then we tried vaseline, to see if it acted like blubber. Overwhelming response was "yes!"
Finally, we made a polar bear craft.
See you next month!
