ABC Storytime

What a great group of friends today! Lots of great interactions on each individual's level and comfort! And everyone stuck around to socialize and play afterwards!

Today: ABCs! I borrowed the ABCs & 123s Kit from IFLS

Welcome Song (from JBrary)

Book: Henry Finds His Word by Lindsay Ward

Felt: BINGO (we clapped and said the letter sound)

Felt: Each kid was given a letter. I did half of Chicka Chicka Boom Boom with the props. When it was their letter, they could bring it up and put on the tree.

Book: AlphaBlock

Song: Can't Wait to Celebrate by Jim Gill - with eggs

Activity: We made our bodies into a few different letters, inspired by Alphabet Fun

Activity: I demonstrated with each kid the alphabet tube then each kid went home with their own tube and a bunch of stickers!

Storytime September 17 - Books

Storytime is back! My favorite day of the week!

We used instruments during our Welcome Song today - we did only the first 2 and the last verse.

Book: Read it, Don't Eat it by Schoenherr

Movement: I passed the shakers out again and we danced like ourselves and like worms to Johnette Downing's song Bookworm.

Book: Help! We Need a Title! by Herve Tullet

After story, we briefly talked about holes and which letters do and do not have them. I got out a pile of felt letters and let them put them on the feltboard in the two categories (and then do whatever they wanted with them). Talk about adorable conversations between the kids!!!
